It all started on November 7th 2022 where I was doing some research around Plastic waste across the U.K when it got me thinking what can I do to make a difference. 

I cant take on the biggest Plastic Criminals which are the Bottled Drinks Industry.

But what I can do is take on the high Plastic, and High polluting candle and wax melt Industry but How ?

(Every Candle Made in China Travels a long distance is it really worth the price ?)

That is where the Idea for Yorkshire-Candles.com came from we decided we would hand make all the products for better finish, while ensuring all our packaging is Sustainable and plastic free.

Now time to Find some suppliers who we thought aligned with our goals, after much of trawling the internet we hand a long list of potential suppliers.

So after 2 weeks in we had a clear plan wrote out and had started designing a website using GoDaddy  which was a blessing as non of us had ever built a website before.

We had placed our first set of orders from Supplies for Candles for wax, Fragrance oil, Glass jars and wicks. we choose this supplier because they were local to us, also being located in Yorkshire and had fairly priced products.

Now came the fun part Making the candles and wax melts which is a lot more difficult then you would think, you need to consider the Size of the jar your using, the size of the wick, the type of wax, the heat of the room your making them in plus much much more. so after a few mistakes we found the correct formula for us.

The wax melts were pure delight and the candles too, Everybody who smelt them said wow amazing I need them in my life which spurred us on even more.

Next was on to finding the Correct label supplier who would be able to print our colour designs on a eco friendly paper.

The we stumbled across the amazing Averys who had all the design inspiration we needed and the tools to pull It off quickly with the labels looking so professional at an amazing Cost.
